Dunkin' Donuts Offers Almond Milk Before Starbucks
Almond milk has quickly become the new soy milk, prompting its sale in supermarkets across the nation and at many a local coffee shop. But now we know the trend is here to stay, because fast food giant Dunkin' Donuts has just become the first big chain to add almond milk to its menu. Dunkin' Donuts was also one of the first major chains to offer gluten-free items.
Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Almondmilk will be available in coffees and lattes, but not every Dunkin' location will have the milk alternative onsite. To find out if your local Dunkin' Donuts is participating in the initiative, check the store locator at DunkinDonuts.com and look for an "AM" (for almond milk) symbol.
Bloomberg Businessweek reports that three-quarters of Dunkin' Donuts' 7,821 locations will offer almond milk. America's other top coffee chain, Starbucks, has yet to roll out the trendy non-dairy option due to allergy issues. But we'll see if Dunkin' Donuts decision sparks an all-out almond milk war.
